As veganism and ethical consumerism grow, the demand for vegan nail polish has surged. At Suncoat, the majority of our nail polish shades are 100% vegan, except for select reds, pinks, and purples. We use natural colorants, but carmine, a red pigment derived from insects, is the only non-vegan ingredient in our production process. While carmine is a natural option, it’s not vegan-friendly, and we are actively working to find a plant-based alternative.
Finding a durable plant-based red for our water-based vegan nail polish has proven challenging. Although we’ve tested options like beet and Gardenia fruit extracts, these colors tend to fade too quickly. Despite these hurdles, we remain committed to finding a lasting solution.
An important aspect of vegan nail polish is its cruelty-free nature. At Suncoat, we are firmly against animal testing and ensure that none of our products, nor the raw materials we use, are tested on animals. We exclusively partner with suppliers who share this commitment to cruelty-free practices.
